As if having to interview with a pornographic magazine wasn’t embarrassing enough (reputable magazines must have finally written him off), Dawkins decided to mark this new low by celebrating his utter historical and theological ignorance. In the interview, Dawkins publicly declares that the evidence for the life of Jesus is extremely thin, and (even more damningly) admits that he has not read the very book that he’s dedicated a significant portion of his life to undermining – the Bible. This speaks volumes about both the man’s credibility and intellectual honesty. He attacks a book which he has never read and questions the historical existence of a man for whom records are embarrassingly rich, but then presumes to attack others for what he sees as their intellectual foibles? Can the irony get any thicker? He really should read that book sometime, particularly that bit about logs and specks.
