Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

We pray this email finds you well. It is our joy to announce details of the Stand for the Gospel 2012 annual conference.

This year’s conference will be held slightly later in the year, over the weekend of 12-14 October. We have the privilege of welcoming Conrad Mbewe once again as our keynote speaker, and look forward to being edified and challenged under his faithful teaching of God’s Word.

You can find all of the necessary details on the Conference Website – http://www.standforthegospel.org/conference/stand-2012/

The conference will be free again this year (if registered before October 1st). Registration details will be sent out to you via email in the next couple of months.

What is the gospel?

The gospel: the triumphant declaration that God, holy and righteous, is redeeming the world through His Son Jesus Christ, calling everyone everywhere to repent from sin and trust Him for salvation.

At STAND 2012, we’ll focus the mission of Christ and His church in the world. Kevin DeYoung & Greg Gilbert in their recent book What is the Mission of the Church? stated “…the mission of the church is to go into the world and make disciples by declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Spirit and gathering these disciples into churches, that they might worship and obey Jesus Christ now and in eternity to the glory of God the Father.” We look forward to Pastor Mbewe bring us five messages over this weekend helping us to think more carefully on this from the Scriptures and challenging us to Go with the Gospel, faithfully following our Lord and Saviour.

In the workshops, you will be challenged to apply the gospel to every facet of your Christian life, with an even wider selection of topics this year.

Workshops

  • Peter Collier: Training? Me? How the Gospel Compels Us to be Equipped
  • Peter Somervell: Gospel Centred Leadership
  • Cam Gracey: Evangelism/Christianity Explored Training
  • Paul Davison: Ministry for Everyone: Reading the Bible One on One
  • William Chong: Letting the Gospel Shape our Gathered Worship
  • Mandy Fleener: Creativity to the Glory of God
  • Joe Fleener: Learning to Read to the Glory of God

As a result of this special weekend, we pray, you will be emboldened to stand for what’s of first importance: the gospel of Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing you here!

By the way, mark your calendars now for 2013 & 2014:

Joe Fleener and Calvyn Jonker
